Dubrovnik has turned into a magical place again this winter, illuminated with thousands of Christmas lights, filled with holiday spirit and atmosphere, song and joy. In collaboration with cultural institutions and public companies, the City of Dubrovnik, the Dubrovnik Tourist Board and the Dubrovnik Summer Festival have prepared a varied cultural, entertainment, gastronomy and music programme for visitors of all ages and tastes. Special holiday atmosphere and true musical magic at the fifth Dubrovnik Winter Festival will be provided by the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra and their special guests at the Dubrovnik Christmas Concert at Hotel Valamar Lacroma Dubrovnik on Saturday, 22 December at 20:00.

Last year, the citizens of Dubrovnik have been introduced to Marc Tardue, esteemed American conductor of Italian and French descent, chief conductor of the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra since October and the winner of numerous prestigious awards, including Swiss Prize in Geneva, Medalha de Mérito Cultural awarded by the Portuguese Ministry of Culture and the title Chevalier des Arts et Lettres awarded by the French government for significant artistic accomplishments. For the second year in a row, maestro Tardue will conduct the Dubrovnik Christmas Concert, which brings the best selection of Christmas and popular music, opera arias and klapa songs.

In the most wonderful Christmas tale, the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra will be joined by the leading Croatian tenor Domagoj Dorotić, renowned Croatian soprano Martina Zadro and young soprano Sara Žuvela. Other appearances include award-winning Dubrovnik jazz singer Maja Grgić, excellent Vedran Ljubenko and Doris Kosović, as well as klapa Kaše and female klapa FA Linđo.

The orchestra and their guests have prepared varied and rich programme which includes Ave Maria, White Christmas, Santa Baby, Christmas in the City, Rijeka dubrovačka Christmas carol, and numerous traditional Christmas songs.
